Troubled relationships appear to be the norm in society because ‘everyone’ seems to have a troubled relationship. Some have capitalized on the ‘pandemic’ of troubled relationships with reality shows; sit-coms; talk shows; court television shows; and movies. The family is at the core of relationships in any society. When the family is sick, society cannot be well.

This Book Is Written To Cast Light Upon T1 Relationships.
The 'T' stands for Thinking and '1' stands for 1st. T1 Thinking represents the first time a person begins to sever her/his relationship with the Self. This process usually begins around age 5 and it is fueled by misinformation about the Self unknowingly provided by primary caretakers (T1 parents). Once a person has a T1 relationship with themselves, they will primarily have T1 relationships with everyone else who is of close kinship or relationship to them. This condition is devastating because no one within the T1 network knows they are T1; therefore, nothing will be done to fix it. T1 relationships make significant contributions to:
  Poor communication in the family
  The inability to establish intimate relationships
  Difficulty establishing trust
  Loneliness
  The growing trend toward work-a-holism to avoid emotional responsibility
  Silent guilt and shame
  Generalized fear and anxiety
  Inability to ‘fit-in’
  Feelings of anger/resentment
  The inability to answer the basic question... ‘Who am I?'

Meet Dr. Winston Collins
Dr. Winston Collins is a University of Pennsylvania graduate. He is the Director of a leading Behavioral Health treatment program in Philadelphia, Pa. 

He has 25 years of professional experience treating individuals and families who have mental health, substance use and related challenges. He also manages a private practice in Philadelphia, Pa. 

Dr. Collins has served as an instructor at several local colleges including Bryn Mawr University and Rutgers University where he teaches research methods at the graduate school of social work. 
  •  Dr. Collins is a member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity
  •  Dr. Collins is also an accomplished bass player
  •  Dr. Collins is the 3rd of 8 children
He is an expert consultant for the Federal Judiciary of Eastern Pennsylvania. Dr. Collins is a senior character and fitness evaluator for the Pennsylvania Board of Law Examiners and a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association.

T1 RELATIONSHIPS

STROKE OF OBSESSIVE THINKING
This session discusses the fact that when obsessive thinking is present, the mind is under constant attack. A stroke is a serious condition that is also called "The Silent Killer". Therefore, it becomes very important for us to recognize the symptoms of a stroke of obsessive thinking.
STUCK ON SOBER THINKING
This session shows us how many individuals recovering from self-destructive behaviors such as gambling, over-eating, drinking, etc. believe they are healthy simply because the self-destructive behavior ceased. These individuals, and their family members or spouses, failed to realize that the work towards healing has just begun and there are many many challenges ahead.
DENIAL
Overcoming denial is a major challenge because we unknowingly rationalize, intellectualize and otherwise justify our behavior. We will continue with our pattern of troubled relationships with family members and people important to us until we overcome DENIAL. 
RECOVERY OF PERSONAL FREEDOM
This lesson teaches us how to form healthy relationships. It identifies relationhips from their beginning (acquaintance) and other stages such as friendship and marriage. Many individuals attempt to start relationships with inadequate information. These relationships are usually unrewarding because they are based on false assumptions.
COGNITIVE DISTORTION
An inability to think with clarity lies at the center of most unhealthy relationships and unhealthy behaviors. Cognitive Distortion is a mental blindness that disables our true perception of ourselves, others and reality. Many people live their entire lives with cognitive distortion and without ever having a clue of its presence.
THE ROOTS OF MISPERCEPTION
When adult caretakers (who were also misinformed as children) unknowingly provide misinformation to their children, T1 Thinking is born in those children. This may occur as early as five years of age. T1 Thinking represents powerfully negative thoughts about the self that are developed in early childhood and based upon mis-information received from primary caretakers. It is difficult for children to avoid internalizing the misperceptions of their parents and other adult caretakers.  
EVIDENCE
You say that you want what is best for you, but the EVIDENCE suggest that you want the worse for you. For instance, you say you love your family, but the evidence shows that you can't get along with your family. In order for you to receive what you deserve out of life, your WILL for your life must be consistent with the Creator's WILL for your life. 
ME
Many of us have been living beneath our privilege. Over the years, you have paid increasingly more attention to people around you and increasingly less attention to the 'Me' in you. This is why you have spent years trying to get T1 individuals to give you what they do not have. How much time are you willing to invest in renewing your relationship with 'Me'? It is time to put 'Me' first.
FORGIVENESS
This discussion teaches us how to release the anger, resentment and guilt that has imprisoned us for most of our lives. Forgiveness is actually not a complicated process and you will be surprised to learn just who requires your forgiveness.
FAMILY
A clear and simple description of a healthy family is discussed along with a description of roles played by a real father (husband), mother (wife) and healthy children.
SPIRITUAL GROWTH
This session discusses Essential Spiritual principles (such as Inner-Harmony, Honesty, Truthfulness, etc.) that are required for spiritual and personal growth. This information is a prerequisite for a healthy recovery. (Guest speaker is Beverly Collins, RN, BSN, MSN.
SPECIAL TOPICS
THERE IS A WAY!
This session shows how Ego-Centric individuals get lost. Each person is asked to rate his/her relationship with himself/herself. The antidote for unhealthy thinking is provided via a list of “Things I Need to Do for Myself.”
IMPORTANT
Information provided in this discussion shows us how to deem ourselves “Important” if we are to be victorious in overcoming the challenges in our lives. People tend to devote more of their energy towards things that are important to them (right or wrong) and less energy towards things that are less important.
WILL ALIGNMENT
This session outlines the significance of matching our will for ourselves with God’s will for us in order to realize peace, joy and happiness in our lives. This discussion shows how we can be our own worst enemy.
SOS (SAVE OUR SHIP)
This session is about ‘Save Our Ship’ as in relationSHIP. If you and someone important to you cannot swim and you both are drowning, who do you attempt to save? The notion that we cannot save anyone but ourselves is difficult, yet important to accept.
NEXT DIMENSION RECOVERY
Dr Collins discusses the ultimate destination for those who embody the spirit and teachings of NDR. This discussion shows us how to obtain and live in Personal Freedom. NDR is about the Personal Freedom that many people seek to find.
U.I.D. (UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DENIAL)
This is a powerful discussion of Denial and clearly explains how it cancels what we know and takes over our Belief and our Will. This information will answer and clear up lots of questions about why our lives don't work as we would like them to work.
THE BASICS
This session teaches personal responsibility that all healthy individuals must practice daily. Many individuals never learned the Basics because no one taught them the Basics. This information will be helpful to everyone.
THE KEY
This session teaches us the Key to Personal Freedom. Dr. Collins believes this to be the most important of all NDR discussions because it is not possible to unlock Personal Freedom without The Key. However, it is important to listen to prior discussions that include Spirituality, Spiritual Growth and Will Alignment to form the foundation to incorporate The Key.
COMPLACENCY
This session demonstrates how many individuals stop short of changing their lives and achieving their goals in life. This discussion is for anyone who wonders why they just continue 'coming up short' of completing important life goals.
L.I.G. (LET IT GO)
This session provides a unique perspective on how to let go of the past and how to begin to enjoy our present and move forward towards our future . This discussion will finally help you to get off of a 'dead end' street and back on the main road to success in your life.
WHO AM I?
Many people don't know how to establish intimate relationships; experience difficulty with trusting others; feel alone; become work-a-holics in order to avoid emotional responsibility; live silently with guilt/shame, feel inferior, experience generalized fear, wrestle with feelings of anger/resentment; and many people are still unable to answer the basic question of “who am I?”
K.F.O.M. (KEEP THE FOCUS ON ME)
Keep the Focus on Me (KFOM) is often used as a simple 'saying' or phrase by many people. You may have heard someone else use this phrase and then picked it up for yourself. Until now, KFOM has only meant that you were taking a temporary time-out. You do not know the real meaning of KFOM because you have not practiced KFOM since you were a child.
K.F.O.M. ADMIT
This session is the first of 5 foundational principles of K.F.O.M. (Keep the Focus On ME). Admitting to your own existence. To admit to your own existence is not a simple affirmation. You cannot affirm what you do not currently have. Your existence is not evident when you allow others to redefine you as they see you.
K.F.O.M. SELF PROTECTION
The second principle of K.F.O.M. (Keep the Focus On ME) is SELF PROTECTION. Concentrating on you and guarding against distractions and distractors should be a daily practice. This means that you should not entertain or take on other people's problems and negativity. Reducing your participation in drama will increase the time you have to K.F.O.M.
K.F.O.M. BLAMING
The third principle of K.F.O.M. (Keep the Focus On ME) is BLAMING. It is time to stop blaming T1 Thinking people for being who they think they are and for doing the things they are known to do. It is time to focus on changing your own T1 Thinking. 
K.F.O.M. "I AM ACCOUNTABLE" 
In this session, we discuss the fourth principle of K.F.O.M. (Keep the Focus On ME), "I AM ACCOUNTABLE". KFOM is a unilateral, not a joint, decision to hold yourself fully accountable for your own happiness and wellbeing. You are liable, answerable, and responsible for creating and maintaining your own state of happiness and wellbeing. 
K.F.O.M. PAY ATTENTION
This session provides the fifth principle of K.F.O.M. (Keep the Focus On ME) which is PAYING ATTENTION. Paying close attention to your thoughts/feelings and correcting them when necessary. T1 Thinking can become a 'norm' for many over the years and cause us to not pay attention to our thinking. 
RECOVERY FROM SEXUAL ABUSE
Many have suffered in silence for years while attempting to recover from sexual abuse. As a child, you unconsciously realize that you would not be able to survive in the face of the distress, abuse, and trauma. Now enters your 2nd self, or alter-ego, which is adept at T1 Thinking. The original purpose of your 2nd self was to ensure your survival. For instance, your 2nd self learned that drugs and alcohol numb emotional pain. Even though you have survived, your 2nd self does not want to relinquish its control over you.

Next Dimension Recovery provides a forum for dialogue and discussion on how to identify T1 Thinking patterns and how to replace them with healthier ways of thinking. NDR helps individuals to redefine words and ideas that are commonly and unknowingly misunderstood. 

ME

A new language is taught by which we can live and learn with greater success. NDR helps to keep the primary focus on Me and not T1 individuals in my life who are important to me. I am the only person in the world that I can change and NDR helps me to become more willing and shows me how to change MYSELF. 

EMOTIONAL SOBRIETY

What we have sought in others can only be found in ourselves. NDR helps me to rediscover just who I am and to dispel many false beliefs I have protected about myself and others. NDR seeks to develop emotional Sobriety and Personal Freedom. When we live in personal freedom, we have an opportunity to be the Best we can be and to experience our greatest hopes and dreams for our lives. 

PEACE OF MIND

NDR believes all people who experience T1 Thinking deserve and are capable of experiencing greater rewards that life has to offer. Those who receive this information will be able to begin to change their unhealthy thinking patterns. This process can lead to emotional healing and freedom from life-long emotional and spiritual bondage. As a result, individuals will be able to love themselves and others; enjoy peace of mind; and finally be able to say, “I know who I am". 

CLOSING PRAYER

God, I pray that You would help me to let go of my T1 Thinking, so that I can live according to Your will.

Help me to clearly see my T1 Thinking patterns.

Help me to Learn; to Trust; and to Believe in Your Truth and have the Will to consistently practice Your Truth for my life.

As a result, I believe that I will discover unconditional love for You, myself and others; and I will experience joy, emotional sobriety, and peace of mind.

I will also be able to say, 'I Am who God says I Am' and begin to walk in the path that God has already prepared for 'Me'.

Today, I Proclaim, I am Free and I am able to live in Personal Freedom!
